Update on Last Wednesday's Council Meeting

Last Wednesday night's Council meeting the representative for the developer of 8601 West Sunrise came before the council with several requests.

1.  To change the commercial zoning of their property by asking council to extend the Central Business District to include their property which would then allow this property mixed use (commercial & residential) designation. This request was DENIED by a 3/2 vote.

2. To use FLEX rules to allow for 153 more units, more than the 222 (they are proposing 375 units) than this property would be allowed if #1 above had been approved;  All items regarding FLEX were tabled to a date uncertain.
