The plant city skatepark is very small, and costs $3.00 for admission, so most people are just gonna drive an extra 15 minutes to lakeland rather than the small concrete slab with a couple of ramps. If we manage to expand the park or build a new one, it would attract many tourists from all over, which would mean more business for Plant City. There are tons of skaters in Florida who would love to see a new spot to just hang out at, and have a good time. If the project were to get funded, I (personally) wouldn't mind paying an extra couple of dollars for admission, and it's probably the same for many others. Skateboarding gives both kids and young adults another reason to stay off the streets, in some alley selling drugs or trespassing on private property. For many of us, skateboarding brings more meaning to our lives, and it allows us to express ourselves and be free for once. It just lets us get away from reality for a little bit, it doesn't matter if you just had the worst day in your life, or if you had the best. If you're on a skateboard, you're just happy. We need a way to express ourselves, so if we had a new park, skaters from all over would come and visit (especially famous skaters / pros, which would bring a TON of business, considering that everyone would want to come from all over and visit.) It really would make our lives complete to have a new park.
