Oshawa Coyotes

The Issue

Coyotes have always existed in Durham Region, however, this year they seem to be becoming more bold and desensitized to the hazing techniques that officials tell us are the best way to co-exist with them.  In the past 3 months at least 3 children have been bitten in North Oshawa.  The time to react to this situation is now!  We can learn from what has already happened in Stanley Park, no early action on their part quickly turned to a crisis...the coyotes became more aggressive and unfortunately this led to the worst outcome, euthanasia.  It is my hope with responsive action this can be avoided, however, these animals are intelligent and once they start this type of behaviour it will only increase and become worse.

To date, a group of residents feel the response has not been effective.  Help make this community effort recognized by council.  Sign our petition to support action and help protect the residents, children and pets of our city.

Signing this petition is not saying you support a cull necessarily, it means you support a more responsive action to deal with the issue before it becomes a bigger problem.

Please only sign the petition if you are a concerned resident of Oshawa or the Durham region.
