Stop Accidents on Brown & Vallejo intersection in Downtown Napa

The Issue

To ensure the safety of drivers, bikers, and pedestrians at the intersection of Brown Street and Vallejo Street in Downtown Napa, we need to change this intersection to a 4-way stop.

There have been many serious and minor accidents at the intersection of Brown Street and Vallejo Street in Downtown Napa. This intersection only has stop signs in both directions of Brown Street; it is a minor-road-only stop control. The lack of stop signs on Vallejo street has allowed drivers to speed through the neighborhood. Also, lack of stop control leads to collision accidents (the most recent major accident on 7/10/21), near-misses for bicycle riders, and a dangerous environment for pedestrians. This intersection is bustling for a neighborhood thoroughfare. The intersection sees children that live in the immediate neighborhood, many pedestrians with dogs, and people walking to the downtown area, all using it regularly.

A safer intersection will create a safer neighborhood and a more welcoming area for residents and tourists.
