For the safety of all involved, I am asking the City of Nanaimo close and fence of the Pioneer Square park. A tiny sliver of land between the Island Highway and Victoria Rd. There are illegal encampments that are dangerous to the neighborhood and it needs to be shut down. Daily fights that end up in the roads either side are a public concern. Food being strewn about is attracting vermin. And people carrying home fashioned weapons are breaking down our safety. Not to mention the illegal activities that are going on.

I have been in constant contact with Bylaw and City about the ongoing issue. But I feel the only solution is to close this park. So if you are also feeling unsafe with what is going on please add your name to this petition to let the city know.
