A month ago we were forced by the city to have our roof repaired, during the construction a roofer accidentally let out our husky dogs that were secured and safe in our house. To them it was a fun adventure as it is for all huskies. The workers and family immediately started the chase to catch our huskies and get them home. However a small dog that was loose and unattended near a neighbors house got in the way. Our dogs originally ran past the small dog but then soon turned back towards the other dog.. As most husky owners know, they are known to chase small animals.. This was no exception. Our dogs however have been in the company of small animals before on several occasions, and have only acted out when the other dog was the aggressor. The small dog died as the result of the incident. A month later we get a citation from the city ordering us to have our dogs immediately removed from the city or euthanized on th ground that they are dangerous animals. My husband and I are both professionals, I am a certified veterinary technician, I know dogs, I also have a young son with anxiety and boundary issues... I would not allow a dangerous animals in our house. I have also taken these dogs to elementary schools, parades, social events, and other fund raisers where dogs and children were present. They are not dangerous. I am asking you all to please sign our petition to help us save and keep Our dogs at our home. Our court date is looming..
