Stop harming native prairie dogs

Stop harming native prairie dogs
The Issue
The city of Midland in Texas is going to be leveling the home on hundreds of prairie dogs so they can have extra parking for people during 4th of July fireworks. So, countless animals who lived there first are going to be murdered so humans don't have to walk a little farther to spend a couple hours watching fireworks. It's appalling. An article from a local newspaper said this...
"The city has already attempted to solve its prairie dog problem with what officials called the “Rodent-ator,” which, according to Director of Animal Services Paul O’Neill, is a machine that fills the prairie dog holes with oxygen and propane and creates an explosion. O’Neill said the Rodent-ator is supposed to knock the prairie dogs unconscious and the soil collapses on them."
And this...
“It hasn’t really been effective trying to move them out first, so we are going to skip that part, level out the mounds, fill the holes anyway and keep an eye on it up until the event,” Bustilloz said."

I am sickened at the lack of compassion for our native wildlife and I'm hoping by collecting signatures, I am able to convince the City of Midland and Texas Parks and Wildlife to set up a sanctuary for them.
