On May 23, 2016, the City Commission for the City of McAllen voted to ban amplified outdoor music in McAllen’s Entertainment and Cultural Overlay District. This ordinance will effectively ban all future outdoor live music events, concerts and performances in the City of McAllen's "entertainment district."
