Overturn the Manhattan Beach Covid Vaccine Mandate & Covid Booster Mandate. 

On September 21, 2021 the Manhattan Beach City Council voted on a Vaccine Mandate for all Manhattan Beach City employees including MBPD. Mayor Hildy Stern, Steve Napolitano & Richard Montgomery blatantly ignored the science and current low Covid case & hospitalization numbers.

We are 35 year Manhattan Beach residents, we are NOT “Anti-Vac” in fact we are both vaccinated however we, as countless residents feel the mandate is unconstitutional, unnecessary and a threat to public safety.

Manhattan Beach has small Police & Fire departments. Ironically the majority our first responders are vaccinated however the small percentage that is not vaccinated (most who have natural immunity) will leave their departments if forced to be vaccinated. This is a pending, unnecessary public safety threat. The mandate will include Boosters (not discussed or voted on in the September 19th meeting).

The vaccine mandate is unconstitutional, unethical and coercive. A vaccine mandate will not allow our city to “get ahead” of Covid at the same time our Southern borders are wide open with untested, unvaccinated migrants.

Keep in mind MBPD & MBFD did not have the luxury to “stay safe at home”. They were on the frontlines, serving our community and keeping us safe, dealing with countless protests, threats of riots in town, increased violence and “defund” police hate.

Countless States are wide open with no Vaccine Mandates. Additionally L.A. County Sheriff Villanueva recently announced he will not enforce the vaccine mandate on his officers…our MBPD & MBFD deserve the same respect.
