We would like the City of Lancaster to approve either a variance or conditional use permit for Barber Family Farm at 45620 30th St. East Lancaster, Ca. 93535. 

Barber Family Farm wishes to be able to offer the public access to their property for the purpose of interacting with their rescued farm animals. We wish to offer both tactile therapy (PTSD and Autism) as well petting zoo and pony rides. Barber Family Farm is fully insured with $2,000,000.00 general liability insurance. All guests will be supervised at all times by experienced handlers. Barber Family Farm wishes to provide the local community with an experience that is not currently available to our community. If a person wishes to utilize animal therapy they must travel to Santa Clarita or further and pay upwards of $125.00 per hour for services. Barber Family Farm would offer access to their animals for a donation of $5.00 for the same services. If a family, daycare or school wishes to attend a petting zoo or pony rides they must travel to Griffith Park in Los Angeles and pay large fees and spend a lot of money on gas there and back. This is not a feasible option for most of our residents. Barber Family Farm would offer this experience for a $5.00 donation per person.  

Barber Family Farm is currently offering all these services to resident of Greater Los Angeles and Orange County for the past 2 years and wishes to curb that and offer their service to their own community.

Barber Family Farm has many volunteers that help keep the property clean and free of animal manure, curbing any fly or smell nuisance. All animals are housed humanely and are cared for with the uptmost attention. Animals have spacious safe enclosures and are in no way crowded. The community has relied on their compassion and skill to rescue farm animals from grim situations and give them a new chance at life. 

Barber Family Farm is a wonderful place to visit and experience the calming and healing effect of animals. Their facility benefits both local animals and humans alike.
