Scooters are prohibited at the Kirksville Skatepark in Kirksville, MO. City officials have said that the skatepark cannot withstand the wear and tear that scooters apply to the ramps. The park is built of plywood and SkateLite, the standard for most parks. I know for fact that scooters are nearly harmless to the ramps because there are thousands of parks across the nation that allow scooters, and are constructed of the same materials and there are no issues.
Scooters do not cause anymore damage to the ramps, and they should be permitted at the skatepark.
