Make all-day parking more accessible in Geelong!

Make all-day parking more accessible in Geelong!
The issue
Parking around University Hospital Geelong is difficult, time consuming and unsafe, not just for staff, but for patients using this wonderful hospital.
The City of Greater Geelong council has continued to move all-day parking from convenient walking distance to the hospital, to blocks and blocks away. Parking that is close to the hospital is limited to 2, 3 and 4 hour zones. This obviously isn't long enough for staff to park for a shift (even if they move their cars on their breaks) and often isn't even enough time for a patient to park, see their clinician, and return to their car in time.
Staff "PM" shifts finish between 9.30pm and 11pm, when it is long past daylight hours. Many staff are risking their safety to walk to their cars in the dark. Families and friends of inpatients at University Hospital Geelong are also at risk, as visiting hours end at around 8pm.
Patients being seen in Emergency or Outpatients Departments are being forced to park in short time zoned parks and hope to not be fined, or being made to walk long distances while unwell after parking in an all day zone.
The signatories on this petition want the City of Greater Geelong council to review the parking zones around University Hospital Geelong as a matter of public safety. We want increased time limits on zoned parking and an increase in the number of all-day parks within safe walking distance of the hospital.
