The removal of the Mad Anthony statue downtown.

The Issue

Our city has always been conservative, but never have I ever seen the amount of racism that has been bleeding out of our city these last few weeks. It's despicable. And change must come in order for us to make a path for a better future. One of these very crucial first steps is handling the bigotry and racism here in our city. So let's start it with the tearing down of the Anthony Wayne statue in downtown Fort Wayne.

For those that don't know, after the Revolutionary War, he moved from the north to Georgia and bought 47 slaves, which he would place on a rice plantation and hire an overseer to look after them.
