Oppose University Drive Extension to Eaton PlaceTwo important upcoming meetings - Mark your calendars!
Neighbors of University Drive
Nov 29, 2016
In the next two weeks, the Mayor and City Council will hold discussions and take action on the proposed extension of University Drive. A decision will be made 2 weeks from today.
- On December 6, the City Council will discuss the project in a work session.
- On December 13, the City Council will hold a public hearing, followed by a vote on a resolution to either move forward with the next stage of funding for engineering or cancel the project.
Both the City Council work session and meeting are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the City Hall Annex and will be televised on Cityscreen-12, the city television station.
We have all worked very hard to make our voices heard. Let's push hard over the next 2 weeks to drive our message home!
- Continue to email your comments to mayor&council@fairfaxva.gov and melanie.crowder@fairfaxva.gov and request that they be read for the public record
- Attend the sessions on December 6th and 13th and share your comments with the staff. We need to have a big turnout so mark your calendars today!
- We're just a few signatures shy of a 100 signatures -- encourage any and all Fairfax City residents to sign the petition as a matter of concern to anyone who pays taxes in the City. The traffic study shows the cut-thru will worsen traffic in Northfax, and there is yet no evaluation of the future tax dollars it will take to then address those consequences.
