Mr. Mayor and City of Fairfax Council Members,

In light of the news the Mayor has been arrested in connection with a sexual favors for methamphetamine ring, we respectfully ask Mayor Silverthorne to immediately resign as the City of Fairfax Mayor. These allegations are disturbing and do not represent the values the City of Fairfax citizens hold. Further, the succession of the Mayor position should be handled transparently by the City of Fairfax Council. The Mayor reported on his Facebook page he has appointed Jeff Greenfield as Interim Mayor. We believe this decision should be made by the City Council without interference from a Mayor under a cloud of controversy.
