The down town parking enforcement is known for harassing the people who live, work, and visit down town. This is why a time limit of 2 hours is set for each meter. How can some one who is busy at work have the time to keep checking their meter? If the punishment of a crime is just a fine, then the intention of that crime is to keep the poor enslaved. This is the mindset of the parking enforcement. It is unknown how all the money that is generated through this service is spent. The parking enforcement does not sponsor any events to attract people down town nor do they help out with directing any traffic for any events hosted by other businesses. Due to the selfish behavior of this whole department, downtown suffers. If generating more income for the city is the ultimate goal for all parties, then it is a priority to cut the expenses, starting with the party that limits the potential growth for the people down town. Austin Texas has already followed through with the same procedure that is intended for this petition. If visiting down town was less stressful, wouldn't it be more welcoming for people to come and support their city's local growth ?
