Stop mismanagement of funds at NMCL

The Issue

The community of North Millbourne are asking for support in petitioning the North Millbourne Community League (NMCL) for demonstrating unethical practice and mismanagement of funds. Firstly, NMCL has withheld No More Excuses (NME) damage deposit without providing an initial list of damages. If NMCL was in good standing with the city's tri-partite agreement and program bylaw, NME should not have had to pay a damage deposit. Secondly, there exists a conflict of interest in that the Facilities Director is also being contracted for all building maintenance. Due to the board's poor business conduct, the North Millbourne community asks that the City of Edmonton demand an external audit from the NMCL to focus on the following: damage deposits under appropriate bylaws and volunteer board members acting as a paid contractors. As well, we would like to ask the board members involved in the unethical practice when dealing with No More Excuses resign from the board. It is our hope that this audit will bring resolution to the tainted reputation of the community.
