Removal of Dublin Georgia's Confederate Statue!!!

Removal of Dublin Georgia's Confederate Statue!!!
The Issue
It is the day to speak up and get on the right side of history in Dublin, Georgia U.S.A. it's a pink elephant in the room staring directly into our eyes. As an African American, I've continued to look away from the towering Confederate Statue sitting in the heart of Dublin Georgia's downtown entertainment district.
The American Civil War was a civil war in the United States from 1861 to 1865, fought between the northern United States and the southern United States. The civil war began primarily as a result of the long-standing controversy over the enslavement of black people.
Simply put, today it is very divisive especially when the population in the city of.Dublin, Georgia is 63.8 % African American according to the United States Census.
It's way past the time to remove Dublin, Georgia's Confederate Statue that does not unite us, it divides us as a city. It's time to celebrate the success of Dublin, Georgia's black and white citizens together as one, not with a divisive Confederate Statue looking over our progressively growing city and beautiful downtown area.
Let's make this change now because everytime this conversation begins, somehow we're told it's not the right time to deal with removal of Dublin, Georgia's Confederate Statue! #2020 is the best time! Please sign this petition now!
