Provide DDR with an abandoned warehouse to use as their No Kill Shelter

I would like to see the City of Detroit donate 1 of their several abandoned buildings to the rescue group DDR. Their mission statement is “ To create a state-of-the-art, no kill animal shelter in Detroit”. There are many abandoned buildings that aren’t being used and if donated could allow DDR to start their shelter and start saving the estimated 50,000 dogs that were left abandoned in that city.

Here is an excerpt from their website.
Mission: To create a state-of-the-art, no kill animal shelter in Detroit.
Detroit Dog Rescue is focused on raising awareness for the plight of the forgotten, homeless and stray dogs of Detroit.
There are more than 50,000 homeless and stray dogs running loose on the streets of Detroit. With only twenty-three City of Detroit Animal Control Officers to perform rescue operations, nearly 90% of dogs picked up by the city are euthanized. With limited resources and funding allocations to humane animal rescue operations, Detroit Dog Rescue is a small group of highly committed individuals dedicated to help make a difference in the city, one dog at a time.
Detroit Dog Rescue focuses on raising awareness of the mounting homeless and stray dog problem in Detroit, along with advocating for humane rescue alternatives such as no-kill sheltering, foster care and adoptions, pet identification and healthy pet population control through spay and neutering. Detroit Dog Rescue also specializes in community outreach, and we work closely with local, city and statewide organizations in order to educate and involve people in this cause. We also respond to calls to assist the Detroit Police Department, Highland Park Police Department, Hamtramck Police Department, Fire Departments, the City Administration, as well as hundreds of residents who have asked for our help.
Detroit Dog Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. We are tax exempt for your generous donations. Our EIN is 27-5299891 for your tax purposes. Detroit Dog Rescue's mission is to open the first no-kill shelter in Detroit, and we need your help.
