Nikola Jokic is the first Denver Nugget to win NBA MVP since we joined the league in 1976. His transcendent play has buoyed a struggling franchise and given life to a fanbase that has had little to cheer for over the last 50 years. 

Despite winning the MVP in 2021 and looking like the frontrunner to win it again, most Denver area fans can not watch him on TV due to a corporate dispute between Comcast and the Nuggets ownership. This has led to far too few people in Denver celebrating the Joker's historic greatness. 

All great players get hometown murals. From Lebron's "witness", to more recent Ja Morant art, it is a common way to show a star that the city appreciates them.
