Update: Request for Public Reconsideration Records

Thank you to everyone who has supported this petition. We now have more than 540 supporters calling for greater accountability and a Council Code of Conduct in Delta.

Since this petition was launched, we have requested records from the City regarding the reconsideration of the Council Code of Conduct Bylaw, including:

Council agendas
Meeting minutes
Staff reports
Council resolutions
Any publicly available reasons explaining the outcome of the reconsideration
Based on the City's responses to our requests, we have not been provided with records showing a public Council agenda item, discussion, meeting minutes, resolution, or published reasons documenting the reconsideration.

This leaves an important question for residents:

If the Code of Conduct Bylaw was reconsidered, where is the public record of that reconsideration and the reasons for the decision?

Transparency is essential to maintaining public confidence in local government. We appreciate everyone who continues to support accountability, openness, and good governance in Delta.
