The City of Cypress, CA has put in place a project to re-purpose the Arnold Cypress Park Roller Hockey Rink into a pickleball court. This rink has been the home to RebelTown and Badfish Roller Derby for the past six years. There was no advance notice so the leagues were not able to participate in the discussion. Painting has started and the installation for courts is scheduled to be just around the holidays. We would like to let the city know the impact that this will have on the local community and derby athletes and the value of having such organizations. We are asking the City of Cypress to stop the development of Arnold Cypress Hockey Rink. 

California real estate values are sky rocketing and teams are continue to close their doors due to the lack of available practice spaces. Not just locally, but all across the U.S.  Arnold Cypress Park is one of the few venues left that are cost efficient, safe, and central to our derby community. 

We are asking YOU, skaters, athletes, supporters, friends, and family to sign this petition and let the City of Cypress know that the Arnold Roller Rink is our home.

As members of an inclusive roller derby community, we want to keep the conversation positive and maintain our relationship with the City of Cypress so please refrain from using profanity or any type of offensive language. We have zero tolerance for such behavior.
