Hello everyone!

Last night at 6pm we had a meeting with Don, the Circleville mayor, and addressed him about the state of Ted Lewis and the plans for it in the future. At this point, we roughly have around 1,300 signatures, which we provided to him during the meeting, along with all the comments that were left on the petition, which I hope he will read (we couldn’t go through all the comments with him personally). At points it became quite heated and passionate, but that’s expected. We were able to formulate a plan, one that Don backs and supports. Going forward, members of the Full Circle team (Jason Coatney, Corrina Coatney, Kalib Hart) and Robin Roy-Kasler will be addressing council members in order to get the Ted Lewis plans revised, which council is aware of, because Don mentioned it at the city council meeting last night at 7pm. We need 4 out of 7 council members votes in order to proceed with revisiting/revising the Ted Lewis plans. Obviously, we are passionate about the skatepark, but this will call them to revisit the idea of many other aspects that are being left out of the park as well, such as the tennis courts. As so many people said on the petition, the current plans did not include all the things that they should and they felt the city wasn’t listening to them, we agree and that’s why we’re going to try our best to get four council members on our side. Ted Lewis is in desperate need of a remodel and updates, but those should include things for all age groups and demographics. Feel free to reach out to our city council and voice your opinions with them as well. This needs to be done in a civil manner, that way we can achieve effective, positive results. As for the skatepark, we can make it happen. There is room in Ted Lewis for it, we just need to get the votes so it can officially be added to the plan. Once we have the land guaranteed, we can start receiving grants, donations, and other forms of funding to build a new/improved skatepark.
