I just signed the following petition addressed to: City of Chicago.

Save the Storefront Theater

The Storefront Theater and cultural programming in general are crucial to the culture, quality of life, artistic vitality, tourism, and economy of Chicago.

I am especially looking forward to the upcoming performances at the Storefront Theater. I realize that the city is going through some challenging restructuring right now, but I am concerned that all of the staff positions at the Storefront Theater will be discontinued on June 30th. I know that it is impossible to maintain quality cultural programming or run an important venue like the Storefront Theater without a knowledgeable, experienced staff.

I’m very grateful that the city has promised to honor all current contracts, including those with all performance organizations scheduled after the Storefront Theater staff will be gone. Please insure that these performances will be appropriately staffed, so that the Storefront Theater can continue its long tradition of presenting quality work in Chicago.

Sincerely,
