There have been recent calls and petitions to defund the City of Chattanooga Police Department.This would  result in highly qualified officers leaving the force, higher crime rates, unsafe atmospheres in public places, distrust among citizens, and chaos in our city. This would be a total failure of our elected officials to allow this to happen. Please Keep funding for the City of Chattanooga Police department and encourage our officers to maintain their positions. Implement training to educate officers/ upper ranking officials on safer practices, cultural differences, and better ways to engage community members of all ethnicity.
