Save Dolphin Park Pool

Save Dolphin Park Pool
The Issue
Save the internationally recognized, iconic, inline skate spot in the City of Carson at Dolphin Park! The city is looking to "improve" their facilities by demolishing the wading pool that has been home to the aggressive inline skate community for over 23 years. The urban suburbia park, Dolphin Park, located off the 405 highway in an oasis off the main street Wilmington, has been a facility to the locals only on the east side of Carson.
The park has a wading pool that has no value to the locals, but, has been treasure to the aggressive inline skating community. Known for the smoothest ledges, the circle pool has created an immense energy that has been recognized internationally. Visitors from Japan to Switzerland, will seek the circle ledges to experience the beauty of this architecture and the magic that this location creates, which the locals believe is only a wading pool.
Skaters can inline skate in a circle, doing inline tricks that cannot be done anywhere else. A training facility to some that encourages confidence of all levels, amateur and professional skaters can take their tricks to instagram and share with their friends, or to competitions for athletes that represent their city looking to earn a living from a first prize winning.
Dolphin park has been a home to the inline skaters that reside on the west side to the east side of Carson and skaters from neighboring cities anywhere in between San Diego to Northern California. A place for shade during the hot summer months, a grassy area to the side of the pool making it a great location for BBQs, bringing the inline skate community and their families of all ages together. Discovered by a generation of skaters from the 90’s, are now training their kids here, developing skills of patience and persistence learning how to fall safely, get back up and courageously try again. Another opportunity to pulling kids away from their electronics, promoting healthy habits, and fighting America's problem of Obesity.
Travelers will quickly make a stop passing through the 405, as the park is not far off the exit, and have a session at the wading pool in Dolphin park. Followed by lunch at the local businesses, Omega Burgers or Top Shelf Tacos down the ways that will now lose business if demolished.
As the city looks to tear down the pool and add a "racquet ball court" that will be hardly used by the locals, the city will lose the magic that this park has created for artists that choose to paint with their inline skates, only to satisfy a small community where, the City of Carson can benefit from the international presence that the wading pool magnetizes bringing good energy to the city and will now only be just another park in a city that is already hardly recognized.
Sign the petition now, share with everyone, and lets save the circle ledges at Dolphin Park for the inline skating community and the City of Carson!
