Corey K started this petition to City of Cambridge and Region of Waterloo Council and Staff

Flag Raiders Paintball is a nearly four decades old family owned and operated business. Unfortunately as a result of the pandemic, the lease at their previous location was not renewed.

The owners of Flag Raiders Paintball have been working with staff at the City of Cambridge and the Region of Waterloo since early January 2021 to find another location to operate their business. An outdoor paintball facility requires a unique location and very specific zoning. Many locations have been considered, however they have yet to find one with appropriate zoning or with zoning that could be changed.

Flag Raiders owns 60 acres of property on Kossuth Rd. in Cambridge. The business did operate there from 2000-2008, prior to moving to Bingemans. While very suitable for a recreational use, the Kossuth Rd. property is currently zoned as agriculture and open space. Flag Raiders wishes to use the smallest portion of the property for recreational use, while maintaining both the agricultural and open space/conservation areas.  City of Cambridge and Region of Waterloo need to recognize that an outdoor paintball facility is a very unique use and the Kossuth Rd. property is well suited for recreational uses and offers an ideal location for players from Waterloo Region and Southwestern Ontario.  The City and Region have the power to allow Flag Raiders to relocate back on the Kossuth Rd. property.

Flag Raiders has not operated since mid-November 2020 and they need to get back to generating revenue to keep their business alive! Tell the decision makers at the City and Region to allow Flag Raiders to operate on Kossuth Rd. so they can get back to providing a safe and fun recreational activity for players of all ages and helping to boost the local economy while they are at it.
