2018 Calgary Formula E Bid

0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!

Calgary has always been on the forefront of technological innovation and entrepreneurship. With the recent cancellation of the Formula E Grand Prix in Montreal, it is a perfect opportunity for Calgary to showcase what western Canada has to offer.

With well over a million people, a resilient economy and a proven track record of hosting large scale events, Calgary is well positioned to host an event of this scale. Targeting an event, such as Formula E, would truly show the diversification of our city and economy.

A successful Grand Prix for the city would include positive benefits for local businesses, minimal impact to citizens and infrastructure and not reliant on public funding. The first step in this process is to gauge interest and develop interest in ticket sales in preparation for bid and permitting.

A preliminary track layout for a West Village Circuit was developed and alternatives have been discussed for East Village, Memorial and Grandstand Circuits.

Our goal is to reach 100,000 signatures on the e-petition by January 15th. To reach this goal we are looking for sharing through social media to understand interest and perspective. If successful we will begin formal process to secure the Grand Prix for Calgary in 2018.
