A planning application for a new Papa Johns pizza takeaway/delivery unit to open at Unit 2 Queensbury Court has been refused by the planning department of the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council.

The unit is currently approved as a Restaurant. The recent application set out to change this use to a hot food takeaway use. There is already a chinese takeaway operating in the next door unit, plus a newly opened bistro restaurant in the unit to the other side.

The main reason for refusing this application given by the council is:

1. The unit is located within 400 metres of: Queensbury swimming pool, a gym and Littlemoor Park. This is deemed to be in breach of a guidance document adopted by the council.

The council are saying that the subject unit is located outside of the commercial centre of Queensbury and should not open in this location as it directly affects the above mentioned leisure facilities.
