Save HopOn.Bike in Lister Park
The Issue
Help HopOn.bike to stay at Lister Park - please sign our petition to show support.
HopOn.bike is a non profit, community organisation providing vital support in Bradford, working on improving physical and mental health through activities such as cycling, walking, yoga and coaching tailored to each individual.
We’ve been running since 2016 and have over 3000 people registered with us. The majority of our cyclists are women and children from a South Asian background; a community in which cycling is the exception, rather than the norm.
Over the last 9 months from the lifting of the last Covid-19 lockdown, an additional 1000 people have registered with Hop On. Every month over 600 women and children engage with Hop On to partake in cycling and walking in Lister Park (Manningham, Bradford).
People want and need our services.
Our cycling sessions are held at Lister park, with 80 bicycles being stored in one of the storage containers on site to ensure easy access for the service users.
We risk losing our storage on 14th December. Without on-site storage for our bicycles, we will have to stop delivering our services.
Sadly, we are now being forced to leave Lister Park without any viable solutions being offered. We believe this is unfair and we have not been offered any suitable alternatives. We need your help to keep us at Lister park and continue providing crucial, transformative training for so many that desperately need this network.
Please sign the petition, share on social media and spread the word. We need your help to get our voice heard.
If you know of any contacts that can help with temporary or permanent storage facilities for bikes around Lister Park please get in touch with Fozia on 07736472153
