Adding in a light/crosswalks at the intersection of Baywood & Towanda Barnes Rd.
The Issue
The intersection between Baywood Rd. and Towanda Barnes Rd. has had a horrible history of being one of the most dangerous intersections in town. It has many blind spots and areas where people do not see pedestrians. Towanda Barnes also has many people that will go faster than the speed limit posted, which is 45 mph. Today, after witnessing a man who lives across the street from my home get hit and badly injured in a hit and run incident on the corner of Baywood Rd. & Towanda Barnes Rd. in Bloomington,IL, I am demanding that a stop light as well as a cross walk be put up and clearly marked and labeled to prevent any further injuries or potential tragedies. Kids and families cross this street daily on bikes or by walking in order to utilize the park off of Baywood Rd. We have to keep our community and the residents of it safe. I am demanding that this change be made immediately.
