Chuckanut Drive begins at an interchange with Interstate 5 (I-5) north of Burlington and continues northwest through several small towns and the Chuckanut Mountains to the Fairhaven district of Bellingham, where the highway turns east and ends again at I-5.

Chuckanut Drive is scenic and a beautiful place to visit. But, due to the road limitations, in some parts of Chuckanut there just isn't enough space for a car and a bicycle. In some occasions, it's even more dangerous both for a driver and a cyclist to be on the same road. It's not only a threat for a cyclist but also a driver.

While I do agree that cycling is an awesome sport and Chuckanut Drive is a scenic ride, I feel like it's not safe because how small the roads are in some parts of Chuckanut. I had many occasions that I've almost gotten into the accident with another vehicle or the cyclist for the same exact reason. Yet, many cyclists often don't even follow the rules.

The City of Bellingham either has to implement some sort of restrictions for cyclists or ban them completely from riding on the Chuckanut Drive. Safety first.
