Potbelly/minipigs were introduced to the U.S. in the 80's,since then they have become very popular pets.The city of Indianapolis prohibits potbelly pigs as pets.They are not regonized as pets they are lumped in as livestock.There are hundreds of thousands of potbelly pigs living in the U.S. as house pets.They are clean,intellengent,loving pets.Many people myself was included have or had potbelly pigs as pets in the city of Indianapolis.We have to hide our pets in fear of them being taken away by animal control.Potbelly pigs are not a danger to neighbors,children or personal property.

     This law has been in effect for over 100 years so cannot include potbelly pigs,since they were not in this country til some 65 to 70 years later.This law should be amended to allow potbelly/minipigs as PETS to responsible knowledgable owners.This would also generate funds to the city from registration fees.

      Responsible owners spay or nueter their pigs,vacinate and worm them regulary.Unlike alot of dog and cat owners in the city.They do not roam the streets unattended.

     Its time to change this outdated law and change the status from livestock to pets.
