Fellow Austin-area resident:

The City Council is considering changes to the Homeless Camping Ordinance today at a meeting at City Hall that begins at 10am.

I am signed up to testify on your behalf -- this will be the third time I have done so.

You can watch the Council meeting live here beginning at 10am. I will be there until I testify, which may be in the evening.

I do not expect meaningful changes to pass today; at best it will be minor changes so the Council can say they did something.

Governor Greg Abbott reiterated his position that unless the Homeless Camping Ban is reinstated, on Nov. 1 he will take every action within his power to protect Austin residents from the homeless camping disaster.

Meanwhile, our petition to rescind the Homeless Camping Ordinance has surpassed 35,000 signatures. Your support has been amazing.

We need to keep the pressure up.

TAKE ACTION

> Have you emailed Mayor Adler? You can do so here right now.

> Have you emailed your council member? You can do so here right now.

> Do you wish to financially support our efforts? You can do so securely here right now.

One more thing, Governor Abbott has asked the public to share examples and photos of the homeless mess on Twitter. Please post your photo and tag @GregAbbott_TX, @MayorAdler and @GregCasar.

Thank you!

To victory,

Matt Mackowiak
