Sign our petition to put in a crosswalk at Leicester Hwy and Patton Ave to help promote a safe environment for pedestrians and cyclists in Asheville.  

The intersection of Leicester Hwy and Patton Ave is one of Asheville busiest intersections, with 5 plus lanes of traffic and constant roadway congestion.   At this time, there is no crosswalk within a quarter mile of this intersection, forcing pedestrians to either run across the street illegally, or walk a long distance on an unsafe road without clear sidewalks in order to cross in a crosswalk.   With bus stops on both sides of Patton Ave, a grocery store, pharmacy and other businesses in close proximity to this intersection, it is vitally important that something is done to promote a safe environment for Asheville's pedestrians.

We are asking the city of Asheville to add a crosswalk to this intersection so that our residents can go to work and run errands without feeling as though they're taking their lives into their hands every time they need to cross the street.
