Martin road skatepark in Amarillo Tx was built in 2007 by grindline skateparks. The park is located in a lower income area of the city and has since been neglected by the city and the community alike.  At points this was a extremely popular place for skaters and bmx riders alike but has always felt lackluster to the the community of people who use the park.  Our goal is to add on to Martin road to make it teeming with life again. While John stiff park is the destination for most the community around Martin road has always benefited from the skate park being there, giving children who may not other wise have anything else to do somewhere to go. The park has the space and the potential to be an extremely great place. The wasted grass area around the skatepark has gone unused completely and the skatepark could benefit from the expansion with more obstacles and more room. When busy the park feels small and overcrowded, hence our need for a larger space. You could spend most of your day waiting to use a certain part  of the park when more than a couple people are there. We’re trying to get in contact with city officials to make this a reality. If our goal is turned down and we are unable to build on, the money will be used to buy full skateboard completes and given to kids in and Around the Amarillo community who may not other wise be able to afford them.
