Bring Back Baseball to Our City

Bring Back Baseball to Our City
Why this petition matters

Let Them Play.
The purpose of this petition is to request the City leaders of Broward County, Particularly the City of Pembroke Pines, Miramar, Cooper City, Weston, Plantation and Hollywood to open the parks to its baseball families for practice and play.
When election time comes don't worry I will remind you who helped us and our kids and who sat idly by and did nothing .
Whereas, on June 3, 2020 Gov. Ron Desantis announces Phase Two reopening. The Governor reopened bars, movie theaters and other entertainment in 67 counties.
Whereas, on May 22, 2020 Gov. Ron DeSantis held a news conference in Jacksonville, Florida at which time he announced that effective immediately, he lifted restrictions on all youth activities, including summer camps and organized sports.
Whereas, as of June 3, In Florida there are currently 57,446 Covid cases. Of the total number of cases (57,446) only 4 percent have reported deaths, ZERO have been under the age of 25 and grand majority have been deaths in ages of 90 and older . (See SEOC COVID-19 Report 82)
Whereas, there have been more deaths of covid in people ages 90 and older than all those under 65 combined.
Whereas health experts around the world have agreed that contracting the virus while outdoors is highly unlikely. According to Dr Bonnie Henry the leading health official in British Columbia “the public is at little risk of contracting the virus while outside calling it negligible and infinitesimally small.”
Whereas on June 5, 2020 Broward County Commissioner Brenda Henry issued Emergency Executive Order 20-15 allowing Organized Sports.
Whereas as some cities have decided to follow the Governor and County leaders recommendation and as of June 8, 2020 Fields will be available for recreation, practice and skills development in Sunrise.
Whereas there are 175,000 Pembroke Pines residents and only 147 have tested positive for Covid. thats 0.0008% !! Pembroke Pines City Leaders have not addressed reopening the parks for its residents despite, the Governor's Order, and the Order from the County Administrator and the date available. Today one can go to the Mall, get a massage, visit a bar or go to the beach but in Pembroke Pines but you still cannot take your son or daughter to the park to practice or play.
If people can get their hair and nails done, go to the mall, go have a drink at a bar, visit a theme park, go to a movie theater , eat at restaurants and go to the beach then Youth in our community should be allowed to return to some resemblance of normalcy as well
Stop playing politics with our kids. Open it up. Let them play.
