Break and enters have been getting worse and worse Australia wide, with laws still protecting offenders, it’s time for us to do something!

It is currently illegal for your dog to defend themselves, yourself, your family and your home. If a trespasser enters your home, the trespasser can cause severe harm to your pet. If your beloved pet reacts, legally, they are faced with the possibility of being killed or you , the owner, being charged a hefty fine. (Under section 25 of the Companion Animals Act 1998 (NSW))

This law is so ridiculous that if your dog simply rips the offenders clothing, you can be charged! We need to band together to change this immediately.

The new law is proposed as follows:

The owner of a dog is NOT liable for damages in respect of: Bodily injury to a person caused by the dogwounding or attacking that person, and. Damage to the personal property of a person (including clothing) caused by the dog in the course of attacking that person if they are trespassing.

This law needs to be changed, to allow you, your pet and your family to feel safe in your own home. Trespassers MUST be held accountable for their actions.

My pup was recently injured due to trespassers attempting to break in (shown in title picture). Dogs should be able to defend themselves and the people they love, not be killed for it.
