Shortage of vet care
The Issue
We are in a crisis for veterinarian's in this city. Many people have been trying for months to get a vet for their animals to get spayed, neutered, vaccines, or medical care. Animals are dying because they cannot get this care. People are being forced to call a emergency vet after hours, just to have their animals seen by a vet. This comes with a heavy cost of anywhere from 250.00 to 500.00 just to walk in the door., and that is not including any vet care, that's extra. People on low incomes, or due to Covid-19 have no jobs, their pets are paying the price. Suffering and even dying. They are awesome pet owners, but there just no vet that cares!!!!
Spays, Neuter, and vaccines, or concerned non emergency......Really??????
Please open your eyes and ears, people and animals are paying the price. We are in a crisis of pet over population, and spring is in air where more kittens and pups are being born, and no place to go, as we have no vet to care for them. No vets in Sault Ste Marie is taking new clients, and we are also losing 2 more vets this year.
The Animal Assistance Group, has always helped these people on low incomes, by offering a discounted price with our vet (Sault Animal Hospital) in Sault Michigan, who has been wonderful, generous and caring for vet care.
Until this vet situation can be resolved in this city, I, Cheryl Alberta and my husband are willing to cross the bridge during this pandemic if you could deem us to be essential workers.
In closing, we are voice for the animals, who can't speak for themselves.
