Stop the main street realignment project

The Issue

  • Traffic flow will be greatly inhibited, slowing and congesting the business district in a detrimental way.  As an example, the removal of the left and right turn lanes at Redwood, leaving only one lane, will clog this section.
  • Parking will be further decreased due to bulb outs.  Lack of parking is a major overlooked issue in centeral business district.
  • Local businesses and visitors will suffer during the construction period, which is our prime tourist season.
  • This project is not needed in the way that it is being forced upon us.  Input from the community is being repeatedly ignored.

Responded
Autumn, Joe Seta messaged me Saturday and Jaimi Parsons emailed me Friday also about the project. Your petition is timely. I am planning on having a council workshop and inviting all Main Street businesses in the affected area to sit at the workshop table to hear their concerns. We will be scheduling the workshop in November. The noticed workshop format will allow the council to fully discuss the matter and hear from the businesses on Main Street. Dave
