I want to thank everyone who has signed our Taylor Run petition and made a donation to a fund we have established to help pay for the services of John Field, a fluvial geomorphologist ( that is an expert in rivers and watersheds) who is helping us in our efforts to preserve Taylor Run. The plan that we want to develop is one that protects the flora and fauna of Taylor Run AND reduces the nutrient pollution that is killing the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac. The City's stream restoration plan will do neither. We have lost too much of Alexandria's native plants and animals to development already. This is an opportunity for us to really be an Eco-City. Next Tuesday tell the City Council to protect, not destroy, Taylor Run.
