Oppose Massive Development at 600 Foothill Blvd

WE, the La Canada Flintridge residents signed below are OPPOSED to City Council member Jonathan Curtis' proposed development at 600 Foothill Blvd and the creation of a new higher density, three-story height MU-3 zone for the project and the Downtown Village Specific Plan. WE agree to allow Together La Canada to use our names in ads, petitions and other media as opposed to the project.
The 600 Foothill project should NOT be the impetus for this wholesale upheaval in our City as we know it. This project, if approved as is, will be the downfall of the village atmosphere that was envisioned for the Foothill Blvd corridor. Every succeeding proposed project will be able to point to this one as justification for its approval.
Much has been said about needing a higher density designation in the city to meet the state Regional Housing Need Allocation ("RHNA") goal for La Canada Flintridge. And it is UNTRUE that the City needs to include massive, towering three story tall buildings right next to the sidewalk and street and adjacent to residential neighborhoods to accomplish that.
All residents, and particularly residents within a block or two of the Foothill corridor, will be severely impacted by the parking, traffic, and congestion that this and other projects will create.
