Save the Potbelly Pigs in Eureka Springs, Arkansas

The Issue

My name is Marilyn Sloas. I live here in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. I have 2 potbelly pigs. Their names are Miss Piggy and Fatboy. Miss Piggy is 5 years and 4 months old. Fatboy is 1 year and 7 months old.  I’ve had Miss Piggy for 5 years and Fatboy for 1 year and 4 months. Since last year I have been dealing with the city council to add to, not change, the animal ordinance. To allow my potbelly pigs to be allowed to stay inside the city limits. My fur babies stay in my yard. They don’t make any noise or ruckus. As soon as they get done going to the bathroom (outside) I’m right there cleaning it up. I throw their waste in a covered trash can I keep outside. Since this is a tourist town, I get so many people walking, driving or biking by that stop just to visit with my potbelly pigs. Potbelly pigs are NOT Livestock. They are not raised for their meat. I’m not raising these potbelly pigs to eat. They are my fur babies. They are very smart, very well behaved and very clean. They are full of love and affection. They are the highlight of my life and my world. Again, they have done nothing wrong to anyone or anything. I wish that some of these closed minded people would actually wake up and stop being a bully and picking on animals who have no voice. I AM THEIR VOICE AND I WILL NOT KEEP QUIET! Please sign this petition to let them and other people know to stop picking on animals who haven’t done anything wrong to anyone. Every year I dress them up on Halloween and people laugh, take pictures of them and smile. To see people smiling  (which we all know this world needs more of) only makes people happier.

I thought Eureka Springs is all about being different. Thinking outside the box. DIVERSITY!

As a community let’s pull together, make a statement and protect these potbelly pigs.

Thank you everyone in advance! Power to potbelly pigs

MISS PIGGY AND FATBOY SAYS THANK YOU!
