The Chure region of Nepal is a newly formed and fragile landscape of Nepal. It is a major source of water for various purposes such as drinking, irrigation and household uses for more than half of the population of Nepal residing in the southern belt. Knowing its importance, the Government of Nepal had banned all types of excavation works for the last 10 years. But recently, the national budget for FY 2021/2022 has announced to lift the ban and the excavated materials could be exported to India. 

This has lead to fear that the whole Terai could be desertified soon if the excavation works resume. It is our responsibility to protect our nature and natural resources for only for us but for our future generation as well. So, we are running this petition campaign to pressurize the government to withhold its decision to destroy our beautiful country.
