**UPDATE** We unfortunately just received word that the City of Hampton will not allow unincorporated Henry County residents to speak during the public comment portion of the Hampton Data Centers Special Called Meeting taking place tomorrow evening. While unincorporated Henry County residents will still be allowed to attend, only residents and business owners within the city limits of Hampton will be permitted to speak.
We are deeply disappointed by this decision, especially since the Henry County Board of Commissioners allows City of Hampton residents to speak at their public meetings.
To the City of Hampton: Unincorporated Henry County residents should be allowed to speak on data center decisions that directly impact their water, air, electric bill, and overall quality of life. Many unincorporated Henry County residents live adjacent to and near these data centers you are annexing into your city, and their voices deserve to be heard.
If you are unsure whether you live or own a business within the City limits of Hampton, please refer to the map in the picture attached. If your residence is located within the purple boundary, you live within the City limits and will be allowed to speak. If you live outside of the purple boundary, you will not be permitted to speak.
