Dear Henry County & City of Hampton Residents,

We want to make you aware that the City of Hampton is holding a Special Called Meeting to discuss data centers this Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 6:00 PM, at Hampton Elementary School Gym, 10 Central Ave, Hampton, GA.

This meeting will allow public comment. The City Council listened to the voices of unincorporated Henry County residents who wanted to speak at previous meetings, as these data centers will impact all surrounding communities. As a result, we have been informed that several council members intend to vote in favor of allowing this amendment to the meeting rules.

The attached map shows the three known data center sites within the City of Hampton that will be discussed. Notably, none of the three sites submitted revised Development of Regional Impact (DRI) reviews, and only one site — Southeast Property Holdings LLC — conducted the required conditional use permit hearing.

This is extremely concerning, especially since construction has already begun at the Equinix site, and site clearing is actively taking place at the Hampton Technology Park Owner LLC site. Furthermore, the developer is actively seeking annexation into the City of Hampton for three additional land parcels adjacent to the Hampton Technology Park site.

Please forward this message and share it with your neighbors in the area so that as many residents as possible can attend and make their voices heard.

P.S. We have not forgotten about the two additional proposed data center sites off Rocky Creek Road and Strickland Road. These sites fall within unincorporated Henry County, under the jurisdiction of the Henry County Board of Commissioners. At this time, Henry County still has a moratorium on all data centers in unincorporated areas until a formal data center ordinance is adopted.
