The Code of Virginia, 18.2-422 explicitly states that prohibition of masks, “... shall not apply to persons engaged in wearing protective masks which are deemed necessary for the physical safety of the wearer or other persons;”

As Virginia’s death toll begins, once again, to mount, we, the under-signed, on behalf of the citizens of Virginia, not from Republican, Democrat, Independent or of any other political party affiliation, ask that Governor Ralph Northam of Virginia, uphold his civil and medical oath to protect Virginians from the global coronavirus pandemic by mandating that masks be worn in public at all times, to be enforced under penalty of law.
