On Oct 12 2019 Atatiana was killed in her home in the present of her 8 year old nephew. By a Ft Worth police officer . I feel it’s important to not only honor her memory but to do so in a way that everyone that travels this stretch of I35 through the heart of Ft Worth Tex, remember her and the need for police reform. Atatiana a 28 year old aspiring doctor to be had her life taken needlessly. You see I am the neighbor that made the non emergency phone call , that to this day haunts me . Atatiana I35W I’m proposing to call it , from I30 to I20 will be fitting because millions of travelers and local commuters will have that moment to reflect on her life , and reflect on how there policed or not in there on city’s counties and or states. No one should fear there local law enforcement simply being at home . Atatiana....her life mattered. Sure changing the name on the interstate won’t bring her back. Won’t ease the pain of her loss. But it will value her existence. It will remind us of the challenges we face in our daily lives. Propel us to engage our police departments. Be aware of the issues that are voted on in city state and national elections. Like our lives really do hang in the balance. Please take the time to sign ❤️
