The City wants to develop up to 94 Multifamily Units, adding between 100 and 400+ additional residents in a community surrounded by single family one story homes, of which is currently low density and more than 1/4 mile away from any major thoroughfares / public transportation.

The location of the proposed development is on the city limits.  It was only through public outreach that the neighboring communities to the South and East were informed of this proposed development as the city does not need to send notice to those jurisdictions.

The current character of this neighborhood is small and quiet, with MAXIMUM 2-story, mostly single-family homes, with a 2 lane road (no bus stops) which is used only to connect the infill streets to 1st Ave S. Grocery, gas, green spaces, or businesses are outside any reasonable walking distance. The property is adjacent to a coastal high hazard area, Bear Creek which floods when there is a major rain event.
