Since Puppy Mill Free Reno began on 7/11/13, more than 50 jurisdictions have passed what we have asked for, some in a few month's time. 85 jurisdictions throughout the world have a ban, 3 more have strong restrictions, including New York City which has banned the sale of rabbits outright. Large governments have passed this ban including the two most populous states of Australia: Victoria (Melbourne) and New South Wales (Sydney) and the entire country of Spain.

3 of 3 lawsuits have been found in favor of the defending cities and the ban has been upheld. Another lawsuit was dropped against the City of San Diego after one month. Only two more lawsuits remain and one can see the way they are going.

Despite lawsuits, jurisdictions have been passing bans left and right including those with stores, such as Oceanside, CA, where the mayor said in comments that he wasn't concerned with lawsuits, the City had a department devoted to lawsuits; he was, however, fully committed to ending animal suffering.

Washoe and Carson City board members have professed the same, yet month-after-month goes by with no action, all the while animals continue to suffer at an alarming rate.

PMFR has collected over 14,000 signatures, mostly local, and the endorsements of 100 businesses and organizations! Apparently this means little to nothing to our elected.
